Born in Venice on 18 August 1934 and graduated from Venice University in 1960, in 1961 he began working as a professional architect. He has held the following posts:
- member of the “Venice Preservation Commission”- special law 171 of 16/7/73 and its amendments;
- member of the scientific technical committee of Venice Expo consortium;
- member of the scientific technical committee of Progetto Venezia for implementing the regional development plan;
- president of the building commission for the old city centre of Venice;
- president of the Venice Municipality Integrated Commission for the period 1991-94;
- currently member of the Veneto regional technical commission for public work.
Born in Venice in 1965 she graduated in Architecture from Venice University and devotes herself to her profession and to the co-operation with Venice University. She has been assistant since 1995 at the Architectural Construction Department for the course “Technological Culture in Design” held by prof.ssa Gianna Riva, with whom she is also doing experimental research on the problem of ventilated walls, on the study of the building covering as an “integrated system” and on the advanced technologies that can be applied to it.
In 2000 she won, together with arch. Tobia Scarpa, the competition for the restoration of Palazzo del Mercato Vecchio in Verona and in 2002, still with arch. T. Scarpa, she took part in and received an award from the competition for the realisation of Palaghiaccio Hockey and renovation of the football ground in Turin.
In 2002 she also served on the panel of the international competition “TECU ARCHITECTURE AWARD 2002” in Germany.
Mentioned for the “renovation of Hotel Mary” in the 2005 edition of the ARCHITECTURE AWARD organised by Venice Town Council.
Winner for her area with the “New Headquarters for the Offices of TiFS Ingegneria in Corso Stati Uniti 56 in Padua” at the 2005 edition of the BARBARA CAPPOCHIN ARCHITECTURE INTERNATIONAL BIENNAL AWARD.
giovanna mar
Born in Venice in 1963 she graduated in History at Ca' Foscari University in Venice, Faculty of Arts and Philosophy, and is currently responsible for the administration and external relationships in Studio Mar.
Expert in historical cartography, bibliographical, documentary and archive research, she has concentrated mainly on regional historical research – necessary for regional planning and environmental impact evaluation – and urban historical research – indispensable for town planning and vital to understand the evolution of buildings through time, with building renovation and restoration in mind.
In connection with this activity she has written a series of articles and publications on the Procuratie Vecchie in Venice, the churches and parish churches of Val Belluna, the old commercial areas in Padua and has planned the P.T.P. of the Province of Belluno as far as historical-architectural property is concerned.
She has acted as co-ordinator with Marsilio Editori for the publication of some volumes regarding the Studio Mar works.
She is an assessor for the Venice Chamber of Commerce and is registered in the C.T.U. Register of the Venice Civil and Penal Tribunal she carried out numerous surveys for in her field.
She has often taught the training courses run by Regione Veneto.
